I’ve got a really simple brainstorming hack I love for getting to good ideas quickly.
I call it Bad Ideas Only™ 😎.
Start with the worst idea you can think of to solve the (design) problem at hand. “What’s the crudest, laziest, least elegant, ham-fisted way to solve this?” This line of thinking lowers the barrier to entry and removes the creative friction to just get started. It lets you quickly run through all the bad ideas so that you can get to something that’s actually good.
Try it and let me know what you think.
